MM OS is a portable small footprint real time kernel, designed for small-embedded systems. It is running on ARM7 and ARM9 processors, but can be easily ported to new architectures. MM OS is designed to be portable , flexible, fast and simple. The main design goal was to create OS for imaging coprocessors and other devices with limited MIPS, memory and power capabilities. Typically those devices don’t need special connectivity features like TCP/IP or file systems, that’s why they can benefit of the removing the overhead associated with these extensions in more sophisticated RTOS. OSAL abstraction layer, provided as part of the operating system, allows fast and seamless migration from typical embedded RTOS (like PrOS, FreeRTOS, etc) to MM OS within a few days. |
